All listings are from animals that were raised and well-loved while they were with us.
We have downsized over the years to focus on Gotland sheep and Suri Alpaca,
but we still have inventory from other breeds available.

GOTLAND is a long silky wool that when spun and/or dyed produces a yarn with a wonderful luster reminiscent of mohair and great drape, with just a little bit of a halo. Gotland sheep produce wool in a range of grays from light to dark, with the lighter gray wool being most suitable for dyeing. Gotland wool is soft and comfortable to wear against the skin. The raw fleeces we offer are typically from a lamb's first or second clip, making the fiber the softest available and highly desirable for hand spinners. Only the best of the best locks are offered as washed locks, which are in limited supply. Lamb fleeces that are unsold after a year will be processed into roving or yarn at a local mill. Rug yarn coming soon!
SURI ALPACA produce one of the most luxurious fibers on the planet, and we are blessed to be able to offer limited quantities of this amazing fiber. Silky, soft, lustrous, delicate – even the most sensitive people will enjoy wearing this fiber against their skin. Like a Huacaya’s fleece, the Suri’s fibers are hollow, providing the same degree of warmth, and Suri is valued for its high luster and cool hand which produces incredibly light and comfortable woven goods. Pure Suri fiber makes a luxury yarn and is particularly suited for scarfs, shawls and similar garments. Suri dyes beautifully, adding unlimited color options to the 16 natural colors of alpaca: white, beige and shades of fawn, brown, black, and grey. We offer raw Suri and raw and processed Huacaya.
Check our shop for available Gotland Alpaca blends, Romney, Mohair and fiber from other breeds we raised in the past. We also offer a limited supply of Gotland sheepskins, handspun yarn and fiber art as available.
Raw, washed or processed, at River Birch Farms, we are working hard to offer fiber that is prized by artists and crafters who spin, knit, crochet, felt, weave and make dolls.
